What is the first aid for Oil burn? If the burned skin is small, you should cool the burned surface by place cool (not cold) water over the burned area for like 20 minutes. Next, you wash the burned surface with pure soap and water. This first aid works perfectly because the alkaline soap blends with the burn area, which will make the pain subside.

Also, a cold compress or clean wet cloth laid over the burned surface can help relieve the pain and inflammation. With massive burns, it is also necessary to cool the surface with cool (not cold) and then apply a sterile bandage. And seek medical care or Call 911 right away.

Open Wound

For an open wound, you need to stop the bleeding first by applying direct pressure on the wound or cut with a clean cloth or tissue or gauze bandage until bleeding stops. According to WebMD, If the blood soaks into the fabric or tissue or gauze bandage, do not remove it. You need to put more cloth or tissue or gauze bandage on top of it and continue to apply pressure till bleeding stops.

After the bleeding stop, clean and dress the wound with a bandage. If the injuries or cut is deep or bleeding doesn’t stop with direct pressure, you need medical attention immediately.

When someone is choking

What is the first aid for choking? The person needs to cough. During coughing, the person should lean forward to help the foreign object spit out from the mouth. If coughing doesn’t work, you should begin back blows. Stand on the side, grab the person under the stomach, and hit five-strong blows between the shoulder blades.

If it is a child that is choking and you grasp that it is a foreign object that is the cause of choking, then you need to raise the baby by the legs and give up to five back blows between the shoulder blades to clear the airway. Make sure you support the baby’s head while you hold them in a face-down position.

If the person is unconscious, you can begin CPR.
