My question for you is this: are you doing everything in your power to ensure that you are growing?

That is, are you focusing on the things that really make a difference in terms of results, or are you wasting time on things that don’t matter?

There’s nothing worse than feeling like you’re working hard and getting nowhere.

I’ve been there too!

The truth?

Growth is hard.

But I’m convinced that anyone and everyone can grow if they focus on the right things.

In this article, we’re going to cover 7 reasons you may be struggling when it comes to growth in life.

Then, we’re going to end with a “how-to” section that offers simple steps that will ensure you improve in the future.

Top 7 Reasons You’re Not Growing in Life

1. Doubt and fear of failure

I’ve seen so many people give up on their dreams because they had doubts or were scared of failing.

It’s very common for people to sabotage themselves in this way!  

Have you got these feelings?  

Check yourself before they hold you back from greatness!

2. Lack of direction

The biggest thing that holds people back in life, in general, is a lack of direction.

If you don’t know where you’re going, then there’s no way to measure your progress and adjust when necessary.

Ask yourself this question:

“What are my goals?”

Can you answer that question?

You may want to write down your goals and list them somewhere.

If you can’t get clear about where you’re going, then it’s impossible to hit the target.

3. Lack of commitment

This is a big one for a lot of people.  

The only way to hit your goals is to commit completely, 100%.  

Are you doing that?

Many people are “sort of” committed.  

That is, they’re pretty much there with their effort, but not fully committed with their hearts and minds.  

If you want to reach the next level in life – whatever it may be – you have to be completely committed.

If you’re not, it’s time to get serious and figure out why you’re not.  

4. Not focusing enough on results, but rather the activity itself

This is one that no one likes talking about.

But it goes to show how “in denial” we can actually be about our lives and what we do with them:  

People say and do all sorts of things, but what matters is the results.

If you aren’t getting the desired results from your current actions and behaviors, then there’s a problem!

It doesn’t matter how much you love doing something if it isn’t bringing in the money or helping you improve.  

You need a good balance between activity and results. 

5. Not taking enough action on a daily basis

Hitting targets takes effort.

If you’re not willing to give it your best every day, then nonsense will happen in terms of growth and progress.

No one can do anything for you – remember that!

Are you ready to do whatever it takes?  

No holding back?

Then let’s go for it!

6. Not getting enough rest and recovery

This ties into not taking action on a daily basis.

Our bodies need time to repair and regenerate after we use them.

Without proper rest, you’re not going to grow as much as possible – it’s that simple!

So make sure you’re getting enough of this critical thing known as “rest.”

7. Bad habits

Bad habits cost us big time!  

They take away from our results and progress and prevent us from reaching our goals in life… period!  

For example, maybe you eat poorly, but you want to lose weight.

The truth is that no matter how hard you work out or diet, if the majority of your food intake is junk, then it’s going to be tough – very tough – to make progress.  

Another example is being negative and crabby.

If you’re like this all the time, then it’s going to be hard for you to build good relationships and feel good about life.

Are there bad habits holding you back?

Remember: the only person who can change your behavior is YOU.  

Take responsibility for where you are, and then create a plan to improve this area of your life.

The sooner, the better.

What To Do When You’re Not Growing In Life

1. Know where you’re going – What are your goals?

Write them down, put them on a vision board, or find some other way to get clear about what you want to achieve.

2. Commit completely – 100%!

Are you doing that with everything in your life?  

If not, why not commit to giving it your best shot from here on out.

You can’t go wrong when you give maximum effort at all times… just make sure it’s for the right reasons.

3. Remove doubt and fear – They’re not your friends!

Doubt and fear will prevent you from hitting the highest levels in life that you can.

If you want to be successful, then get rid of these negative feelings now!

4. Focus on the results – It’s all about milestones.

Are you focusing on them enough?  

If not, then start doing this every single day.

By thinking in terms of results, you’ll get more clarity on your path to greatness!

5. Develop good habits – What are they?

If you’re not sure, then find out!

They’re critical to your growth – there’s no doubt about that.  

6. Take action every single day- Are you doing this?

It takes effort!

The more effort, the better results you’ll get in life… always remember that!

So choose an action step for today and put it into motion right now! 

7. Get enough rest every day – Sleep and recovery are critical to success!

Rest and regeneration allow you to go at life full throttle, so make sure you do it on a daily basis… no excuses.

At least get 7-8 hours of rest a night.

8. Activate your willpower – Willpower is what gets us started and keeps us going.

Don’t ever forget that this is the key to your climb up the mountain of greatness!  

The more willpower you have, the higher you can reach on that mountain.

When all else fails… just keep trying. That’s right!  

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my years of study across many fields, then it’s this:

If something doesn’t work 100% of the time, then try try again until it does work.  

When you do this, success is inevitable.

Now it’s time to grow!

Most people who read this post will smile, say “that’s great,” and then go back to doing nothing.

Since this is the case for most people, how will you be different?

Will you take action right now on at least one of the points above?
