7 Prayers for Difficult Times

During tough moments, it can feel like you’re walking through a storm that just won’t let up. But I want you to know you’re not alone in this struggle. God (God the Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit) is with you in the big and the small – the highs and the lows – yesterday, today, and forever. God is always with you, taking care of you, loving you, protecting you, and guiding you.1

The Lord is with you. He is a great God, and you can find comfort and strength in Him when you come to Him in prayer. Keep in mind that Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).

Prayer for Strength

Heavenly Father,
I feel weak and tired. Please give me the strength I need to face today. Help me stand firm, even when I want to give up. Remind me that You are with me, and that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer for Peace

Lord Jesus,
My mind is filled with worry and fear. Please calm my heart and bring me peace. Teach me to trust Your plan and not be anxious about what I cannot control. Help me rest in Your presence and feel Your loving arms around me. Amen.

Prayer for Guidance

Most Gracious Heavenly Father,
I am unsure about what to do next. I need Your wisdom to make the right choices. Guide my steps and open the right doors. If I stray, gently bring me back to Your path. Thank You for leading me, even when I do not see the way. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray, Amen.

Prayer for Comfort

Dear Lord,
My heart aches with sadness. Please forgive the iniquity of my sin, and I ask You to comfort me in my pain. I know, Lord, that you are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. Please, Lord, surround me with Your love and help me feel Your presence. Remind me that You understand my tears and that I am never alone. In Jesus’ Precious Name. Amen.

Prayer for Hope

Great God Jehovah, I love you. Please, I need your help.
When things seem dark, help me see the light ahead. Fill my heart with hope, even if things do not change right away. Remind me that You are working for my good, and Your promises never fail. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer for Healing

Merciful Heavenly Father,
I need Your healing touch, whether it is for my body, mind, or spirit. By your stripes, Lord Jesus, I am healed. Restore what is broken and make me whole again. I believe that you can heal me. Please forgive my many sins and heal me, Amen.

Prayer for Trust

Dear God,
Sometimes I doubt and struggle to trust You. Please help me believe that You are in control and working everything out for good. Give me a steady heart, even when I do not understand what is happening. Help me trust You more each day.  In Jesus’ Precious Name. Amen.
